Calling 'Situationisme Internationale', Venturi, Scott, Brown and Archigram equally revolutionary is hard to understand but Schrijver does make a case. She points to the way these critiques were a frontal attack to the beliefs and practices of the 60' but were also deeply involved in and contructed by the original ambitions of modernism.
With modernism they shared the believe that their avant-garde positions was not only the right one but like Marxist they proclaimed knowledge of the unescaple future. This schizophrenia must be analyzed with a certain urgency now we see the revival of at least elements of form and content of these movements.… (mer)
