Meh. Mostly I was disappointed because I was expecting a book about pirates for my pirate-obsessed kid, and instead it was a book about a kid who pretends to be lots of different things in order to avoid taking a bath. That said, it wasn't bad if that's what you're looking for. I didn't like how the mom kept squelching his play with downer facts & ideas, but Mom got creative in the end and encouraged the kid to pretend to be looking for undersea treasure (or something). ... Of course, she could have done that in the beginning, with the pirate play.… (mer)

"Little Mouse and Elephant", is a tory which follows a pretentious mouse who believes he is the king of the forest, though warned by his Grandfather that the Elephant was the king of the forrest the mouse continued to speak in a boastful manner. Setting out on an adventure through the woods the mouse meets many animals asking if they are the elephant until he finally runs into the elephant. A great lesson about how arrogance can effect a person's outlook.

This is another book that I believe children would absolutely love. There isn't a child in the world who wouldn't relate with this book at some point. The protagonist of the book wants to leave his home and go far away, but doesn't have any clue how or where to go. The character then sees that there is no better place for him than home. This is true for so many children in the world who wouldn't be able to survive without their home.
