Generally a well written book with an interesting twist (although not entirely new). The story is told through the eyes of a murderer (the Do Good Killer) and the detective trying to bring him to justice. It is fast paced with quite interesting characters. The only criticism I have is that it appears that the author wants to keep the identity of the killer a secret and then changes his mind mid-way through the book and reveals his identity. It makes things a bit disjointed but still this book is definitely worth the read. To describe the book in any greater detail would ruin the story for future readers.… (mer)

a good action-filled book!
author Nathaniel Tower combines spices of action, mystery, crime, etc.
the story is well-written and the plot is outstanding..luring readers to its depth and intelligence..
many twist was formed in the story, as well as the emphasis between good and evil was clearly depicted in this work.. in A Reason to Kill, be prepared to share your soul to the characters of the story, as the author gives you vivid description of how the characters feel, think, and their outlook on certain circumstances.. a good book that would surely make you thinking along with the characters!

Young hotshot Detective Geminer became a police officer to put away scum like the man who killed his father. His latest case, the Do-Good Killer, chooses his victims based on prior criminal records and thinks their history of crime is justification for his murders. As the isolated Geminer attempts to capture the elusive criminal, cope with the loss of his father, and find normal human relationships, he questions his own motives behind being a police officer and begins to learn that he and his enemy have quite a bit in common.

A Reason to Kill is a murder mystery told through the voices of the killer and the detective trying to catch him. I like the fact that the story is told from both perspectives. I enjoyed reading this book.

I only have two negatives about this book. The first is the fact that the reader is left hanging about certain details in the book (cannot go into detail without giving the story away. The other negative is that by the middle of the book I had already figured out who the killer is.

Overall this was a really good book. I would recommend it if you are a fan of mysteries. It is a page-turner.

Read & reviewed for Member's Giveaways

A clever little novel - as it moves along, the plot becomes clear but I don't want to talk about the plot in this review because I don't want to spoil it for new readers. Some of the arguments and reasonings were a little long winded and I didn't find the detective a likeable characer at all because of his smug and arrogant manner. As the tale progresses the reader can see the main character becoming more confused in his thinking. I liked the distinction between detective and killer as they were written in the third and first person respectively which I found a clever little technique. Overall a revealling story and a quick and easy read.… (mer)
