The Three Pigs roll into town looking to build some new houses. Each pig has very particular ideas about what they want, but will their choices be good ones when the rains come tumblin' down? Find out in this pig's tale that shows kids that when we follow God's blueprints, we can make the right choices.

Plus: Before Humpty cracked he was the mayor of a quiet little town. He's literally driven up the wall with the town's problems. Will all the citizens help bring Humpty to his senses again?

Growing God's way is full of pieces of age appropriate, bite-sized biblical advice for young girls, with a Bible verse and a prayer for each day. It's easy to read and understand, and is a good introduction to daily devotions for girls.

This was pretty much what I expected from a branded devotional. It did seem to have a little more biblical application than some I've read, and would be great for a girl who is just starting out with a devotional practice, but certainly not adequate for robust growth.

Minnesota Cuke (Larry the Cucumber) is hired to locate Samson's lost hairbrush that could possibly be used to control Niagara Falls. Or is this a plot created by Minnesota Cuke's nemesis, Professor Rattan?

Although this is marketed as a daily devotions book for boys, it's a book that can be can be used for all children. Each day has a one or two short paragraphs, a Bible verse, a question, and a short prayer. While there are Veggie Tale characters on every page, the majority of the devotions do not reference the characters at all. It is a good devotional for young children with short attention spans.

"A Snoodle's Tale" is the touching story of one small Snoodle who learns that the pictures that others paint of him don't matter at all because we are wonderfully and fearfully made. Includes a retelling of the classic tale of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and also features Larry's Silly Song: Sport Utility Vehicle.

This is a great devotional book for boys. My son is new to Veggie Tales, but he adores them.

The devotions are short and sweet, giving your young one something to learn or think about every day.

I'd highly recommend this lovely book to anyone. There is also a devotions book for Girls available.

We got a free book from the publisher and didn't have to post a review.

Excellent devotional for young girls, ages 4-8. Compact size (5 x 7.25) with 365 entries which include a scripture verse, brief and easy to understand devotion, helpful thought, and a prayer. Devotions can be started at any day since the entries are only numbered, not dated. The book concludes with several "Know It By Heart" verses that girls are encouraged to memorize.

Princess Poppyseed's life on her family's farm is far from the glamorous world of her favorite pop singer Vanna Banana. While Princess milks the cows and dreams of a life on stage, Vanna has her own dreams of a life far from the hectic pace of stardom. On a chance meeting Vanna & Princess cross paths and realize they look almost exactly alike which leads to the crazy notion that maybe they could switch lives! In a flash the girls secret plan is launched but as Princess tries to live up to the demands of being a diva and Vanna learns how to milk the cows each girl realizes that the life they longed for doesn't fulfill all their dreams after all and the life God gave them is the one for which they were uniquely and lovingly designed.

Very cute, easy to read devotional for kids. The lessons are quick and easy to understand with bright pictures. I'm not sure why it is tagged for Girls. The devotions are not girly devotions, they could be used for both boys and girls in my opinion.

I won a copy of this book on LibraryThing. I loved this book so much and I'm looking forward to sharing it with the little ones in my life. The devotions are perfect for little ones and also for us older ones.

The VeggieTales brand has been around for more than 25 years now, and I have fond memories of watching the videos in college when they first came out. They were wholesome and funny at the same time, a trick that most religiously-oriented properties cannot manage. This book lacks the humor, and instead presents a pretty straightforward message of friendship in the context of Christianity. It's cute, vibrantly illustrated, and decently written. It just feels like it lacks the spirit of those early days, leaning more heavily on greeting card sentiment and prose. Good if your kids are already into VeggieTales, forgettable otherwise.

Detective duo Sheerluck Holmes and Dr. Watson must answer the call whenever the Golden Ruler, a valued treasure, is stolen from Buckingham Palace, although Sheerluck has trouble learning that he is part of time due to his inflated ego, making Watson feel unneeded. Also, in a bonus story, the tale of Don Quixote is retold in comedic fashion against the backdrop of a failing restaurant.

This is one of my favorite and most memorable episodes of VeggieTales that I recall from my childhood. It gets points for being based upon a property I love (the Sherlock Holmes adventures), but the story and humor all blend pretty well as we get some nice character development from Sheerluck, although it does come off as absurd to me based off the source material. The real gem for me, though, is the Don Quixote prelude story. The humor in it is astonishingly well done, especially the bits with Mr. Lunt, he really gets his time to shine. All in all a solid outing for the VeggieTales crew and one that I have always remembered -- and probably always will.

Content Concerns: Do I really need this on a VeggieTales review? Unless smoking bubbles out of pipe is worrisome, look no further.

Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler

VeggieTales matchup with the great Sherlock (Sheerluck) Holmes and Dr. Watson in sharing a great lesson on friendship. Sheerluck takes all the credit for the solved crimes in the past without mentioning his counterpart, Dr. Watson. Watson gets tired of being treated so ungratefully and must teach the great detective a valuable lesson. Highly recommend.

The Asparagus of LaMancha

Don Quixote must face discouragement as his restaurant, LaMancha, begins to lose business to the up-and-coming, Food Factory. His friend gives him much needed encouragement and doesn't give up on him, in spite of losing his livelihood. Another great lesson on encouragement and friendship. Highly recommend.

Best Children's Devotional Ever with VeggieTales!

This book contains a short devotion for every day of the year that features the VeggieTales characters. Each one fills up just one little page, but what it contains really packs a punch. Each devotion covers a topic that will relate to kids such as: kindness from and to others; all kinds of friends, and feeling afraid.

Also included is a prayer, a Bible verse, a thought for the day and the devotion. A brightly colored VeggieTale character makes an appearance on each page, too.

There is a pink version for girls and a blue one for boys.

This is the best devotional book I have seen for children. It gets to the point, is easy to read, has topics that will appeal to kids, has small pages, and the bright colors will draw you in. This five-star book will appeal to grades first through sixth.

Thank you, Worthy Kids, for providing Tickmenot with a book to review. Opinions are my own.
