Kort biografi
Like his brother, poet Roger Woddis, Jack Woddis was a prolific writer. Most of his work concerned political issues but he also wrote an account of life in the Merchant Navy.

He held various high-ranking posts within the original (now defunct) Communist Party of Great Britain but was not afraid to voice his feelings when unhappy with the Party line. He strongly opposed the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia and warmly supported changes initiated by the `revisionist`/eurocommunist Italian Communist Party. He was associated with leadership figures working to change the Party from within, but died before such attitudes became widespread within the Party. Is chiefly remembered today for his involvement with the Movement for Colonial Freedom and it`s successor, Liberation.
