Kort biografi
Mary Rose Wood is the author of the continuing series about the Incorrigible children and their governess, which may be considered works of fiction, which is to say, the true bits and the untrue bits are so thoroughly mixed together that no one should be able to tell the difference. This process of fabrication is fully permitted under the terms of the author's Poetic License, which is one of her most prized possessions.

Maryrose's other qualifications for writing include a scandalous stint as a professional thespian, many years as a private governess to two curious and occasionally rambunctious pupils, and whatever literary insights she may have gleaned from living in close proximity to a clever but disobedient dog. Recensioner

Fairly entertaining middle grade series, not right for what I was screening for but I enjoyed the palate cleanser.

When a new family moves into Prune Street Farm, Alice and the other cottontails are cautious. The new owners are from the city; the family and their dog are not at all what the rabbits expect, and soon Alice is making new friends and doing things no rabbit has done before. When she overhears a plan by a developer to run the family off and bulldoze the farm, Alice comes up with a plan, helped by the farmer's son, and other animals, including a majestic bald eagle.

I got this book for the kids that I tutor but when I glanced at the beginning I was hooked and ended up reading it in one sitting. The language and characters are charming, and there are some real lessons to be learned from Penelope and the wise Agatha Swanburne. The only problem with this book is that it leaves you hungry for more. I've already reserved the third book at the library... and my kids will just have to wait until I'm done reading it first!

The mystery depends on this delightful series. I love the sweet, smart, wild children and their plucky governess. I am so curious about where this funny story will finally lead.
