Om mitt bibliotek: I break my library down into countries/languages, combing both literature and history.
The main sections, in order of size, are English, American, Russian, Japanese, Germanic, Hispanic, India, France. Still many gaps to be filled.
Om mig: Born and educated (Masters in History) in the UK. Worked in England, Canada, Switzerland and the U.S. Retired in the American Pacific Northwest, 17 years ago. Been reading for around 74 years (!!), mostly history and fiction, from around the world. Main motivation for reading: understanding "other places and other times," and of course entertainment. I tend to pass by most contemporary fiction unless I get a recommendation from my American wife, whose self appointed and much appreciated task is to broaden my mind.
