I think this book is a great book for students to read to understand that everyone is the same no matter what race they are, gender, or ethnic background. This book tells us how "everyone has belly buttons, everyone has people who love them, everyone needs clothes and food, etc." It is a great book for children to understand that we are all human and need/do the same thing in life no matter who we are or the background we come from. I would use this book in my classroom to explain to children that everyone is equal and should be treated equal no matter what they look like. Appearance means nothing. Age Appropriateness (Primary, Intermediate, Middle School): Primary Review/Critique: This book is about the experience of children all around the world. The book explores the many similarities and differences children share around the world. Some include families, foods, interests, and experiences. Comments on Use: I would use this book to toward the beginning of the year to help demonstrate the point that although we are all different, we all have things in common. I would also incorporate the Common Core State Standards that ask children to compare and contrast. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
