The first story, with Curt Connors having Lizard problems again, is pretty good, with Curt finally realizing that all these years the Lizard has been an excuse for his own shortcomings. The second story, though, is pretty special. It involves a young man, crippled and speechless with cerebral palsy, who becomes witness and participant to Spider-Man's battle with Morbius. This is reminiscent and probably inspired by an older story in which Spider-Man visits a young fan, spends an evening with him, and reveals his secret to him before he goes. The catch, see, is that young Tim is dying of leukemia. Here, the catch is Joey Beal's cerebral palsy. There, the similarity ends, though. This is a special story, as I said, and the artwork is unique, painted, and works perfectly with the verbal imagery. Great story. ( )
