This was the third book of hers that I've read and I'm hooked. This one, in particular, caught my fancy. If you remember a child's picture book called Goodnight, Moon by Margaret Wise Brown, you will enjoy this story. Jin's default setting for her books is Seattle, and as a recent transplant, I'm enjoying the local mention of places in the area. This is the story of a woman, June, who is working at a bank, closing down small businesses that are in arrears on their mortgage payments. She receives a notice from a lawyer that her beloved aunt from Seattle has passed away and given her the bookstore she owned. June travels to Seattle, Green Lake in particular to close up the bookstore and sell it. But, being in the store brings back such memories, and her aunt leaves her a scavenger hunt through letters that Ruby and Margaret Wise Brown wrote in the 1940's. June also meets a local restaurant owner that helps her decide how to save the store. I like how Jio tells the stories and has a bit of a twist at the end of each one. If you like romance and a bit of mystery, you'll like these. Reminds me of Debbie Macomber and others like her. Recommended. ( ) inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

"The New York Times bestselling author of Blackberry Winter imagines the inspiration for Goodnight Moon Goodnight Moon is an adored childhood classic, but its real origins are lost to history. In Goodnight June, Sarah Jio offers a suspenseful and heartfelt take on how the "great green room" might have come to be. June Andersen is professionally successful, but her personal life is marred by unhappiness. Unexpectedly, she is called to settle her great-aunt Ruby's estate and determine the fate of Bluebird Books, the children's bookstore Ruby founded in the 1940s. Amidst the store's papers, June stumbles upon letters between her great-aunt and the late Margaret Wise Brown-and steps into the pages of American literature.
