And so the fifth volume of the Tales series is read out. One more to go. It took me longer than expected and desired. Like the others, however, there are good and not good stories in it, making the novel on a whole not super, but average. Then again, it concerns seperate tales of low importance in the storyline of Dragonlance and Krynn.
Not good (enough) for me: - The Word And The Silence - Seekers - Ogre Unaware - The Voyage Of The Sunchaser
Good, but never super: - Mark Of The Flame, Mark Of The Word - The Bargain Driver - No Gods, No Heroes - Into Shadow, Into Light - The Cobbler's Son - The High Priest Of Halcyon - True Knight ( )
Even for genre fiction, a lot of this is pretty bad. Looking through it these days, it's difficult to understand why, exactly, I thought that this was a great fantasy world. ( )

The road was blocked just over the crest of the hill. No Gods, No Heroes
The knight stalked across the hellish landscape, sword in hand. Into Shadow, Into Light
Through most of a day—from when the sun was high overhead until now, when the sun was gone behind the dagger-spire peaks of the Khalikist Mountains and night birds heralded the first stars glimpsed above—through those hours and those miles he had trailed the puny ones, thinking they might lead him to others of their kind. Ogre Unaware

Nikol and Brother Michael left the Lost Citadel and traveled the forest, now bereft of its enchantment, with the dazed and bewildered expressions of those who have undergone some awful, wondrous experience and who do not, on reflection, believe in it. True Knight
