Highly Commended by the Sheffield Children's Book Award 2010. Lauren and her aunt and uncle are returning to London after years living away in Cornwall. For Lauren it is a return to the sight of a terrible family tragedy and a house full of ghosts. When she was six years old her mum and little sister were murdered in their home ... and Lauren's dad was put in prison for the crime. Now she is living a stone's throw from her old house, and despite her trepidation, Lauren is curious to know who lives there now, and how the house will make her feel. When she becomes friendly with Nathan, the son of the new owners, she finds herself back at the scene of so many nightmares...of memories, but also of things forgotten. Lauren blocked out a lot of that fateful day, but now that she's older, things are coming back to her...things that could mean her dad is innocent, not guilty of murder. After all these years of hating him Lauren now faces the prospect of loving her dad once again. But is it that easy? Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |

Lauren tries to stay away from the house and her memories of seeing her Father, holding a knife over her Mother's dead body after her sister was smothered. Lauren was attempted to be killed as well, but she survived the ordeal, taking her aunt's name so not to get found out by new friends.
Lauren makes a friend of Nathan Reddick, who finds out about her families' past in the house that he is living in (Lauren's old house), and Lauren and Nathan form a relationship so Lauren goes to stay in her old house. Memories of seeing her Father supposedly kill her sister and mother and almost her, haunt Lauren.
But as Lauren finds her Mother's old doll house with the help of Jessica, she finds letters from her Mother writing that her Father nor the other man in question, the clown at Lauren's friends' birthday party - who is a child stalker - killed her sister and her.
This book is a very good book, and I recommend readers to read other books by Anne Cassidy, as she is a very talented writer when it comes to thrillers/horrors. Very good! ( )
