Fon Wyman Boardman (1911–2000)

4745. America and the Progressive Era 1900-1919, by Fon W. Boardman, Jr. (read 29 Aug 2010) While this is written for juveniles I found it fun to read. He does a good job discussing the era and telling in an objective way the events in America during the years indicated. This little book treats in a summary manner what can be studied in a more complete manner in books such as America Enters the World: A People's History of the Progressive Era and World War I Volume Seven, by Page Smith which I read 8 March 1997. I say this even though the author is an admirer of Theodore Dreiser, which I am not.… (mer)
