First sentence: In the forest live three friends, Rabbit, Duck, and Big Bear. They do everything together.

Premise/plot: Rabbit, Duck, and Bear (Big Bear) are best friends who do nearly everything together. But there's one thing that they never do--no matter the season--go down the "long, winding path" [in the woods.] Turns out Rabbit has a secret. Duck has a secret. Bear has a secret. Can you guess the secret?

My thoughts: I enjoyed this one. I definitely liked elements of this one. I thought the story was cute. It was a refreshing take on seasons. I liked the big reveal of everyone's secret. It was a treat of a book.

That being said, I didn't love, love, love the illustrations. I loved the text more than the illustrations. I don't know why the way this bear is illustrated bothers me. (It just does). (I do like the way Duck is illustrated). I do still think this is a fun book that I'm happy to recommend.

Firstly, I have a soft-spot for super sweet covers, which hit the atmosphere of the book just right. And this one does exactly that.

Little One is loved. It begins with Little One receiving love from its mother and father with all the cuddling and sweetness to make the heart melt. This love makes Little One grow...which means more cuddles and sweetness. And that's what any little one loves.

The book is sweet and short, and exactly perfect for the intended age group. Little kids love nothing more than feeling the love of their parents, and this book lets that shine. The characters are fuzz balls...I think...and when Little One poofs, it's super cute. Readers will wish they could cuddle up with Little One themselves.

It's a great book for a bedtime read or a snuggle in the chair and is one that keeps the message of love at the center. And kids never get enough of that.

I received a complimentary copy and wish I could cuddle Little Love, too.

This was such a cute book! This book is about a big wolf who is used to being on his own and when a little wolf arrived, the big wolf was not fond of it at first. When the little wolf went missing for a while, the big wolf missed him. This book is intended for an audience who does not like being lonely.

This is a cute book that shows children that demonstrates the promise that "Daddy will always come back". When Daddy and Matthew climb into the green car to go to school, it sputters and fumes. It finally starts up and off they go. When Daddy leaves he promises Matthew that he will be back to pick him up at the end of the day. Matthew is worried and asks, "What if, this afternoon, the old green car doesn't start?" This sets off a fun question/response between Matthew and Daddy. Matthew keeps asking, "what if", and daddy comes up with funny ways he will come to collect Mathew from school. Each "what if" gets sillier than the last one. It's a nice idea and the underlying message is calm, dependable and reassuring.

The illustrations fit this book perfectly and elicited a lot of conversation between my grandson and I. With dragons, a big red tractor, rabbits in sweaters and more the book maintained interest while assuring the reader that Daddy will not leave him at the end of the day. The discussion could definitely continue after the book was finished using the imagination of the reader and child with more what ifs. A nice book for families where children are starting a new experience and need that reassurance that no matter what, Daddy or even Mommy will be there at the end of the day. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.

Mama’s bad mood this afternoon has put Anna in a bad mood too. Now Anna doesn’t want anything to do with Mama. Daddy has to cut her meat, take her upstairs, tuck her in, and read her a bedtime story. But Anna doesn’t feel right about the way she and Mama have been today. She can’t go to sleep until they make up.

It is a good fantasy book because it shows the friendship between a big wolf and a small wolf who just knew each other for a short term but occupied each other's heart. So warm and impressive.

A great big wolf was greeted one day by a little wolf. He was afraid that the little goat would be much faster, stronger, and better than him. So he made sure not to take the very best care of him. When little wolf disappears he begins to feel sad and wish that he could give little wolf anything he needed, even if he was better than him. will little wolf ever come back?

In this book, a daddy drops his son off at school after having a little car trouble on the way. The boy is worried the car won't work for daddy at pick up time. Daddy, creatively, tells his son the many ways he can get to school for pick up. I love the story, but the illustrations are just OK.

If you have a child who is apprehensive about not being picked up after being taken to school, this is the book for you. Daddy Long Legs will do whatever it takes for him to get him to return the child home. An extra to do when rereading the book is to count the birds illustrated on each page for math practice too. I received a book for review from Goodreads.

In this book the main character Big Wolf starts out living by himself and enjoying his life all alone, then one day he met Little Wolf, they became friends over time, then one day Big Wolf went on a walk and when he came back Little Wolf was gone. Big Wolf worried and felt sad and lonely for the first time in his life. He waited for little wolf to return and realized that if Little Wolf did come back Big Wolf never wanted him to leave. One day Little Wolf did return and then he also decided to stay with Big Wolf. This was a good fantasy because the animals took on some human traits and felt some emotions only humans feel, the animals also talked and walked on two feet not naturally how they walk.

The picture book, "big wolf and little wolf The Little Leaf that Wouldn't Fall", written by, Nadine Brun-Cosme describes a friendship between big wolf and little wolf. Little wolf is constantly asking big wolf for him to go get a leaf on top of a tall tree, which little wolf cannot reach. Big wolf finally climbs up the tree during winter to catch the leaf for little wolf. Big wolf struggles getting back down the tree because the snow is melting, but he is determined and helps little wolf eat the leaf he wanted. In the end, big wolf and little wolf thinks it was worth it because of their happiness.½

I liked this book because it showed how two unlikely friends came together. It also showed how a wold learned to love, even though he had always been on his own. At the end, both of the wolves explained how they were better off together than they were apart. This book almost made me cry. The illustrations were nice, with bright, attention-grabbing colors.

Summary: One day a big wolf is sitting by himself on a hill when a little wolf comes and sits next to him. The wolf is concerned at first because the little wolf might grow and become competition, but he doesn't mind because he likes the company. Little by little, he begins to share his food with little wolf and even give little wolf some of his warmth at night. One day, the little wolf disappears and the big wolf stops eating and becomes upset, hoping for the return of little wolf. Little wolf returns, and both wolves explain how lonely they both were without each other and promise to stay close for the rest of their days.

Personal reflection: I think this book shows young and old minds alike the importance of expressing your feelings and letting others know how much you appreciate and care about them. If big wolf had told little wolf how much he liked his company, maybe little wolf would never have left in the first place.

Class use: Text set on appreciation, text set on friendship, read aloud and discuss in small groups if big wolf was lonely before or after meeting little wolf, discuss concepts of friendship

This book would be a good book to have in the classroom to teach about friendship and sharing.

Really a lovely little story from France. Could be a great story for a little one expecting a sibling on the way. I thought it also read well through the point of becoming a parent in some ways.
