Marie Gray (2)

I found this little gem shortly before I left New Zealand (like the author, I live in the Hawke's Bay) and read it while touring Ireland and found it really interesting from that perspective, visiting the same places. This book is a sequel to Irish in the Blood, which I haven't read. Marie Gray observes with a warmth and understanding, and a sympathy for the Irish which I too felt strongly. Ireland is a green and beautiful countryside, with it's own pace and rhythm. How they must have hated the usurpers!… (mer)
