This book followed new hires at an unnamed company through their training and many years beyond. The descriptions felt realistic, and made me relieved I'm no longer in that world, with all its ambition, infighting, and corporate-speak.

I received this book for free from Member's Giveaway. This book was okay. The premise is a basketball player spending all his money finds the girl of his dreams (who has secrets of her own), marries her and then everything is taken away when there is an accident. Although I'm not a basketball fan, that's not what bothered me about the book.

Here is an overview of what the beta readers said: Part I starts slowly as the characters and plot are introduced, but once they arrived at Part II (starting with the chapter called "Office Romance"), most beta readers were unable to put it down until the end. They reported being fully invested in the characters and had to find out what happened to them, even if it meant reading until 2 or 3 am. Most women could see some of themselves in one or more of the characters, and the male readers were happy that the story "didn't beat up on men." Everyone who read it reported learning something useful while be thoroughly entertained. In my next novel, I'm going to choose an opening chapter that grabs the reader from the start.… (mer)
