The premise of the book was good but I hadn t realised it was a Christian romance.
There are a lot of scripture quotes and a few prayers.
Obvious bitchy other woman vying for his attention at the beginning.
HEA.
I didn't mind it other than the bible quotes.

I liked how it started out, but it lost interest for me about half-way through. The note about Biblical references should have steered me clear.
I was just trying to remember the last time I'd read a book where the woman was the character with all the money and voila! Along came this story.
This is a great story about have's/nots, redefining ourselves (for both characters), and being/becoming a Christian in today's twisted world.
Each chapter is titled with the name of the character it's about, but even when I forgot to check that, I was never confused.

A misunderstanding, and a broken-down car, lead to an unlikely road trip between two acquaintances, and makes for an entertaining, and eye-opening, journey. I adored Kendra's snakiness and penchant for drama and Jake's good-natured humor, but what really drew me in was their compassionate hearts, and how they both live what they believe. Very refreshing!
If I had one complaint, it is that it wasn't long enough! I cannot recommend this short story enough! A quick read that is well written, full of heart, and utterly enjoyable.… (mer)
