Short book (which would be shorter still without the unnecessary amateur graphics) will still give you some help on negotiating your next car purchase. The author stresses (repetitively) a few major points about negotiations in general. For example, don't compete against yourself by doing such things as stating a price, then changing it without the person you're negotiating with haven taken any action. Be prepared - know what you are willing to pay for the car you want, know what you are willing to accept for your trade-in, and be willing to walk away if you don't get it. The author points out, quite rightly, that as the buyer, you are in the position of power. You have lots of options (especially if you live in a large metro area with lots of dealers.)
The book would have benefited from a few more specific details about car buying. While the author tells us about holdbacks and dealer incentives, he doesn't provide advice for dealing with the big delivery charge that dealers always add on AFTER you have come to a deal. I'd like to know how to deal with that one!
