The author studied under one of the leading French thinkers he discusses in this book. He relies very heavily on French interpretations. When he tries to translate them into English he just does not know how to do it. Not just at the word level. The whole French philosophical way of thinking and talking is difficult or impossible to render into English in a way that makes sense. I give him 1.5 stars for the effort.½
