Kort biografi
James Moser lives in Bend, Oregon, where he drinks too much coffee and dreams of magical lands, far, far away . . . . like Portland. Kirkus Reviews recently asked why he prefers to write teen heroes. The author replied, "Because they're the only ones who can save us." He is working on a 3-book series, with Harry Levoreaux again as illustrator.

Pretty good teen fiction. This is the first time that I have read a book that incorporates 'text slang' into the language on the page, and also only one of the few that address the topic of religious cults from the perspective of the children living within the order. There is some work that could be done to the plot to tighten it up; some spots could have more believable explanations. Otherwise, the book is a cute read, one that will attract a fair percentage of teen readers.

[Chasing Prophecy] by [James Moser] was a different twist on the YA paranormal fiction genre. The adventure and the characters are genuine. The style flows well.

The plot has cults, murder, drugs, romance and Bigfoot. What else could you want in a novel.

A light read, easy to read, characters easy to like and follow. The naming of principal "players" in the book are what kept me engaged throughout the book. A realistic book starting with the sixties, including the Big Foot myth, as a back drop, into the present time. "Approaching Normal", a restful ending.

Chasing Prophecy depicts the use of social media for communication using much of the slang that is so common.
The author grabbed my attention at page one and kept it to the very last page.
I think this would interesting choice as assigned reading in a high school English class because of the debate it would spark.
