This book is written in an incredibly effective way that enables an early Spanish language learner to reinforce words and grammar rules that they have already learned while also gaining new vocabulary and grammatical understanding. Specifically, there is a lot of repetition, but many of the iterations add one new thing. You will learn a lot from context and reading clues because of this, reducing the need to look up new words in order to comprehend the gist. Reading this book is very similar to early reader books for children acquiring their native language (or at least it reminded me of reading such books during my early grade school years as a native US English-speaker). The one downside is that the stories are really boring. A lot of it is like this: "I go to school. I go to school Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Saturday and Sunday I do not go to school." Etc. So expect Dick and Jane style (lack of) storytelling. But it's a great learning tool. I don't care that much that it's sort of boring because it's so exciting to be able to actually read it and understand most of it.
