Caroline Sydnor (1913–2010)

I found this little gem at a used book fair and paid $4.00 despite the fact that it was 27 years old. I was not disappointed. I had never heard of Caroline Sydnor, but I was impressed by her cogency when I thumbed through the book. Although she is not as clever a phrase maker as Edgar Kaplan, she provides very clear illustrations of basic plays like suit development, end plays, squeezes, and trump promotion. A few more quizes would have been helpful.
