- My main librarything interest is indexing, and I have started to collect some of the older publications which provide a context to the theories we apply today. I am eclectic in my fiction reading and often rely on second hand bookshops, gifts and borrowings. The books I buy tend to be general non-fiction, eg, Christopher Kremmer, Robert Dessaix and Helen Garner. I like the way they think.

- I work as an indexer and librarian, and also teach and write about indexing. My two greatest claims to fame are receiving a Highly Commended award in the ANZSI medal for my index to my book 'The Indexing Companion', and winning the 2007 IgNobel Award for Literature for an article I wrote on alphabetising index entries that start with 'The'. (You wouldn't believe what angst this causes from Germany to Russia!)
