Some interesting PMI numbers for March have been released today for some selected countries.
Greece (41.3)
Spain (44.5)
Germany (48.4)
Brazil (51.1)
UK (52.1)
China (53.1)
US (53.4)
The real surprises in there are Germany, the UK, and the US. We keep hearing about how bad things are in Britain relative to Germany, but UK manufacturing really shot ahead relative to Germany's in March. Also, it's quite surprising to see the US ahead of China (although not surprising to see the US in positive territory given the soft recovery that we are currently experiencing).
One month is not a recovery, but those are good signs for the US and UK at least.
