But it's not quite your standard alien invasion story - turns out in fact to be rather a clever plot, assisted by excellent sound effects and other incidentals. Strongly recommended. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
Arthur Darvill reads this exclusive audio adventure featuring the Eleventh Doctor and AmyWhen the TARDIS lands on Orkney in the near future, the Doctor and Amy arrive to find a large demonstration in progress over the construction of new electricity pylons. The Doctor tries to break things up peacefully - but suddenly the road splits open without warning and swallows police, security guards and protestors alike... I found the reading a bit ponderous and slow to begin with, but I think that was the fault of the writing rather than the reader. Arthur Darvill gives good characterisation to the different people in the story and is entertaining to listen to.
Sadly my enjoyment of the recording was spoiled by the volume of the background music which I found intrusive, distracting, and at times made it difficult to hear the words. Younger listeners may not be bothered by this! But if you are someone who gets bothered by overpowering background music on the TV, I would give it a miss. ( )
