Zack Fluett was living the rock star dream until one fateful night at the Grammys when he broke his hand on his lead singers nose and began a long downward spiral. A decade later Zacks back -- sober, wiser, and nominated for Song of the Year. Unfortunately, his past catches up with him, and both his hard won self-control and hopes for redemption take a beating as the clock ticks down to the announcement of his category. Zack must rely on the only constant in his life -- playing music -- to make it through the madness that is Musics Biggest Night. The music industry gets skewered in this hilarious take on one mans battle to dance to his own tune. Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |

The book opens in present time, with the flawed but lovable rock star Zack Fluett telling us about his latest predicament. Then we move back in time, to when his music career began. The flashes to present day continue but it's never distracting. The time line is easy to follow, and the tension builds together until the story lines merge.
Even if you've never wanted to hang out with rock stars, there is much to love about this book. The humor and bad boy antics are offset by Zack's introspective moments, his understanding of his own failings, and his continued love for the woman who got away. This book had me laughing out loud, made me stop and reflect on my own life, and even had me misty-eyed a time or two. I hope this is only the first of many more books by Joe Anderson. ( )
