I love Jackson. However I have to say his behaviour was actually more deplorable than Charlie's. And I know I said a lot of nasty things about Charlie, but Jackson's a dick. Anyway I cannot wait till Sawyer. When I read that it's an MMF romance, all I could think about was Xavier Gettin Jiggy with a chick. I can't wait. ( )

Having not read the other books in this series, I was concerned it was going to be difficult for me to follow. Although there were references to things that happened previously, enough detail was given that I could still track with the story. This is for sure a dark story and has loads of triggers for those that are sensitive to certain things. Jackson and Vanessa had great chemistry and although Jackson was cruel at times and was a little over the top, it was coming from a place of hurt.

I listed to the audiobook version of this story with narrators Sarah Puckett and Jay Alder. Both were very good, although early in the book Jay Adler made it seem like Jackson was shouting every time he spoke actual dialog. It did not take much away from the book, it's just something I noticed.

I recommend this book for those that like dark, new adult stories and can handle descriptions of some pretty brutal past abuse of several female characters in the book. I liked it and I am now interested in going back to hear the previous entries in this series. ( )

This book picked up with the sense of urgency and suspense that the previous books did. The suspense almost India me as I was trying to see where this was going to go for Vanessa. As much as I loved Jackso, Nessa atole the show. I enjoyed her courage and understood her reasons for wanting love. Even though these are your adults it doesn't ever feel that way. The characters aren't immature and are highly engaging.

Holy moly!!! Prepare yourselves for one incredible ride. WARNING: if you've not read the RYDEVILLE ELITE series before, I highly suggest reading them so you'll truly understand all the moving parts in this book and the character relationships. Get ready for huge reveals, heartbreak, seedy shadow organizations, and fierce women determined to overcome horrific past events. There's so much adrenaline in this read. The monsters had better watch out, for their time is almost over! This rivals Abby's story in my mind. Like with her other books in the series there are massive trigger warnings. However I loved this read and watching the growth of both Vanessa and Jackson. I look forward to seeing what's up in the next book. ( )
