Here we are back again with Naomi and Sebastian’s story. I knew it would be twisted, dark, and erotic but we get way more with this second one. It made me frustrated about the time spent apart so I had to brush that off and carry on but Naomi annoyed to no end yes she suffers too, yes she feels betrayed, but this girl just couldn’t stop feeling sorry for herself. Ok now that’s off my chest the story was a good one with several twists that some I saw coming and a few that had my mouth popping open. Another crazy ride with some good storytelling. ( )

One of my favorite things about this author is that she always brings the unexpected. After the way things ended in the first book, I was on pins and needles needing answers as to what was going on and how everything tied together. Just when I thought that I had it figured out, things took on new twists and turns.

There were so many unanswered questions in this duet that I wasn't sure what to expect. I wasn't prepared for what happened between Naomi and Sebastian. Nor, was I prepared for how everything unfolded. I loved how these characters stayed true to their deviant side, especially, when it came to the steamier side of their relationship. The author held NOTHING back when it came to those moments and didn't let the dictates of society determine what was appropriate for them. I really appreciated that because I could relate. I loved that she wasn't afraid to cross those lines in the sand.

This was a masterful story, especially, how it tied into the timeline of other major characters, not just in the past but the present and the future as well. What a devious mind this author has. It was great getting to see cameos of old favorites, and I look forward to what is yet to come.

The main reason that this book didn't get five stars is because of how the ending came about. It felt rushed and had tons of information crammed into it in order to get to the point of a fantastic epilogue. That frustrated me because there had been so much building up to that point that I felt let down that everything just wrapped up so nicely without much fight. There was one other area too, but I can't say anything about that without giving major spoilers which I won't do.

Even though this book wasn't a perfect five-star, it still was a great way of ending this duet. There is a reason that I devour anything that this writer creates. ( )
