I think this is a good book for young people who don't know what they want to do yet or anybody who realizes they have not been in a job that fits them. Also, if you don't know how to serve God in church or other capacities. I wish I had read this when it came out. ( ) A process for discovering your passions and abilities in God's kingdom. This is not a book about introspection. Rather it is an exhortation to review your life history to identify what you've done in the past to understand what you might do well for God in the future. Lucado tells us to take risks and serve through our passions by being faithful at our current jobs while exploring new paths. The Cure for the Common Life offers sound advice for those seeking to live life in their sweet spot. Lucado gives scriptural instruction as well as a common sense approach to finding your place and purpose in the world. This book seeks to encourage people who are just living to find their abundant life. Lucado offers a cure for this common life: finding what you're meant to do and being true to who God created you to be...even if it means making changes or completely starting over. I thought this was a good book, but felt like I should've gotten more out of it. I don't know if I was rushing, or if I was in a weird frame of mind, or if it just wasn't one of his best, but it didn't live up to what I expect of Max Lucado. Max Lucado, a well-known televangelist, writes in the same style as he speaks on the topic of finding your own special gift from God and learning how to use those gifts for the benefit of yourself and others. A special section in the back is designed to be used like homework to determine these gifts. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
