Great illustrations, but a bit confusing. Does he catch the ball in the end or not? Was it all in his imagination? We aren't sure.

The line between reality and imagination is entirely too subtle. The layout/design could have been used so much more effectively.

Wiesner is one of my all-time favorite illustrators, but this one is a miss. ( )

This book is filled with great illustrations. It is a wordless book, but it is harder to follow than most. I would recommend this book to older elementary students. ( )

I GOT IT! Was a very intriguing picture book. I can see how a child could flip through this many times and have lots to say about the illustrations. It starts by showing a boy looking at a team, they put him on the team, outfield, where he screams, "I GOT IT!", when the ball comes at him. The rest of the book shows in slow motion how a child that is so hoping to catch the ball might feel anticipating the catch but then something happens and it falls. I had to actually flip through a few times since the only words that are in the book are I GOT IT! ( )

This wordless book brings a boy's baseball dream to life. Although he is not the best player on the team, he does his best. In the end, the illustrations bring to life the joy of his endeavors in the outfield.
