Laddar... Hope's Boy: A Memoirav Andrew Bridge
![]() GAL Book Club (30) Det finns inga diskussioner på LibraryThing om den här boken. Wow. What a heartbreaking yet good story that shows a lot of good things about the human spirit. I applaud Andrew Bridge and the wonderful life he has made for himself despite such an unfortunate childhood. I do wish his grandmother could have raised him somehow. There are children all over the United States in these same situations and sometimes much worse. I am glad Mr. Bridge is now spending his life trying to help children in the foster care system. Bravo, Mr. Bridge and may the Lord help you! ( ![]() Pretty good. I found it interesting Haunting: I was lucky enough to read an early version of this book, and it's stuck with me for all the months since then. Told with unflagging honesty, and about a life that's riveting and fascinating. A heartbreakingly honest tale of a young boy removed from his mother at age 7 due to her deteriorating mental state, and left to make the best of it in a loveless foster home. He goes on to become a successful litigator on behalf of children who have entered the foster care system...wonderfully written and deeply moving. What a truly valuable, praiseworthy memoir. Loved the title. The story is impressively detailed and passionately written. The attention Andy dedicates to recalling the people coloring his memory stand out. The love he held out for his mother and her return I as well admire and respect. So of course their meeting (Andy & Hope in the final chapter) moved me to tears. But what is most moving... and outstanding, is the way Andy opens his memoir; arms raised, palms flat, facing outward...surrendering a credible advocate for children in foster care. A humbling memoir of extraordinary integrity and reliability. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
